In keeping with the rich history of our organization's Christmas Spectacular Arts & Crafts Show, The Valdosta Junior Service League is proud to present a new and exciting event that is destined to become one of South Georgia's favorite holiday traditions ... Merry Marketplace 2008! Merry Marketplace offers an extraordinary shopping experience showcasing the latest styles in home decor, women's fashions, children's clothing, gourmet goodies and much, much more! This event will feature over 100 boutique vendors and artisans from across the Southeast, and as always, proceeds from Merry Marketplace 2008 will help fund dozens of Junior Service League community projects benefiting the health, education and welfare of Lowndes County and the surrounding areas.


We have listened to the comments and suggestions from our artists over the years, as well as the interest and expectations from the community, and are excited to add a new look and dimension to our annual holiday shopping bazaar. We hope that you will consider joining us for the 2nd Annual Merry Marketplace to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 21 - 23, 2008, at the James H. Rainwater Conference Center. Along with the excitement of a new look and a new twist to our show, we will be able to offer an exciting Preview Party event on Friday, November 21, to enjoy an evening of music, giveaways, drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Preview night attendees will also have an opportunity to be very first to shop with all the participating Marketplace Merchants! And, don't forget the kids -- to further build excitement and interest for the weekend event, the Valdosta Junior Service League is hosting a Breakfast with Santa event for community kids and their parents prior to Saturday's show opening. Merry Marketplace is poised to become the official kick-off to the holiday season in South Georgia!

The Valdosta Junior Service League is making a difference in our community. The League's purpose is to improve cultural, welfare, recreational, civic, and educational conditions in our community, and to promote volunteerism and cooperation with organizations. Today, it is comprised of more than 100 active members and over 250 associate and lifetime members.
